The City of Warmth
Brentwood is a tight-knit and relatively small city within St. Louis County. There were about 8,055 citizens living within Brentwood during the 2010 consensus and many more have moved there since. When we say Brentwood a small city, we mean it. It only has about 1.96 square miles of land, but that small area is jam-packed with shopping centers, housing, and just as many businesses. You won’t have to travel far to find what you’re looking for within Brentwood.
Parks & Rec
Even though the city is fairly small, it’s full of fun and spacious parks (8 parks total). If you’re looking for a park with a large variety of outdoor activities, then Brentwood Park is the one for you. Home to two softball diamonds, a baseball diamond, a soccer field, as well as a playground for the children, this park has it all. However, if you’re looking for a place to take your dog, Hanley Park is home to Brentwood Dog Park and has a large fenced in area for your dog to run around and go wild. Hanley Park also has 2 sand volleyball courts, 2 tennis courts, and two handball courts. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something indoors (and just a tad chillier) Brentwood Ice Rink is a great place to take your friends and family for some ice skating fun.
With Brentwood only covering close to 2 square mile, it only has one school district and one private school within the city limits.
Having only 850 students spread out through their entire program (Pre-K through High School), class sizes are small enough to have more meaningful student-teacher connections. With these smaller class sizes, comes higher grades and rates of graduation. Brentwood High School was selected as one of the Best High Schools in the country by the U.S News & World Report in 2016; while in 2017, Mark Twain Elementary School was deemed a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S Department of Education.
Rooted in Catholic tradition, St. Mary Magdalen School provides a very comprehensive school curriculum that encourages growth and challenges students to develop his or her potential. Each classroom has, on average, only 16 students to ensure each student gets the attention they deserve. The school also offers an after school care program through their 3-2-6 Program until 6pm.
