Cyrano's Café started as a Euro-style café in the basement of a Hi-Fi near Forest Park, owned by John and Frances Marshall. They had collected over a hundred gourmet cookbooks and wanted to put them to use by opening the café in a dimly lit room with classical music and industrial accents like exposed pipes. The original menu included simple sandwiches, 16 types of coffee, and a few pastry and dessert options.
Since its humble beginnings, Cyrano's Café has become one of Webster Groves's most beloved restaurants. In 2003, they opened a location near a car shop, selling homemade cakes and pies to the local community. Later, they expanded again and added a private dining space for guests to enjoy their delicious homemade dishes.
